Your Gateway to Health
Reflexology is a therapy that uses finger pressure on specific points on your feet, known as reflexes, to address imbalances within the body itself. There are points on the feet and hands that correspond to organs and structures within the body, in other words the body is mapped out on the feet. By applying pressure and working these reflexes it is possible to help with imbalances in those areas and allow the body to begin to restore. Reflexology is able to address both physical and mental stresses and restore balance holistically to the mind, body and soul.
Benefits of reflexology
Reflexology has been shown to benefit all systems of the body, below are a few examples that I come across on a regular basis where reflexology has helped. I use various methods on your feet to both align and keep your body and mind in balance. As a progressive reflexologist, I believe in nurturing rather than battling against the body.

Reflexology for sleep
Sleep underpins our happiness and well being. Struggles with sleep or indeed insomnia can cause problems with both our mental and physical health if left unaddressed. A reflexology session in itself is a profoundly relaxing and calming treatment, but in addition there are specific reflexes that can be worked on in the feet. These can assist the body to start balancing stress and anxiety, thereby calming the nervous system and contributing to a healthy sleep pattern. Furthermore reflexology has been shown to reduce cortisol levels in the body, one of the main stress hormones, thus allowing a client to have fewer barriers to a good nights sleep.

Hormone balancing reflexology
One interesting aspect of reflexology is the effect it can have on a client’s hormone balance. Reflexology contributes to removing toxins from the body, boosting immunity and improving circulation; and through these benefits it connects to the restoration of hormonal balance. In addition I will work on the emotional reflexes on the feet, thereby empowering clients to cope better with hormonal changes by becoming more emotionally balanced.
I love showing my clients how just a few treatments can make an enormous difference to their health.

Reflexology to help with pain
Reflexology can be beneficial to clients suffering from both acute and chronic pain from many different sources. Living with pain can have a devastating impact on daily life and many clients look to find alternative ways to support their pain management, such as reflexology. A treatment involves working on the reflexes where the pain is felt, as well as the reflexes for the nervous system as a whole. This can help by detoxifying the area where the pain is felt, and begins to increase circulation and decrease inflammation. Both can help reduce the perception of pain.Â
In addition high stress levels can intensify people's awareness of pain, so calming the nervous system through a reflexology treatment can break this cycle and help lessen the clients perception of pain.

Supporting immunity through reflexology
The immune system is the body's natural defence system against infection. Working with your cardiovascular system, it keeps lymphatic fluid in balance and flushes toxins out of your body. When it becomes slow or sluggish, not only are toxins not cleared effectively, but immune cells are not carried as efficiently and as a result your immune system is compromised. Reflexology is able to help move lymphatic fluid around your body by working the lymph system on your feet, and it can also drain excessive fluid in the same way. This helps to eliminate toxins, provide better flow of immune cells and improve immune function.

Testimonials
Sarah was absolutely fantastic. I had my first reflexology session with her and she took the time to explain all the incredible pathways between the feet and the rest of the body. I was amazed at how she was able to identify existing issues in parts of my body through my feet! Sarah's treatment room is a beautiful and relaxing space and her friendly nature puts you at ease from the start. I would highly recommend reflexology with Sarah.

I have had several reflexology treatments with Sarah now. I am a very busy person and can tend to feel quite overwhelmed and stressed at times, so having an hour of complete relaxation makes all the difference to me. My anxiety calms so much during a treatment and for the next few days. I am sleeping so much better, especially the night after a treatment! Thank you Sarah!

I have been suffering with aches and pains in my back and shoulder from an old sports injury which is niggling now I am training again. A friend recommended Sarah to me, so I thought I would give it a go. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and able to explain things during the treatment, especially as she worked the area of my feet that represented my spine and shoulder. I was surprised how much better I felt afterwards having had the opportunity to let go of tension in my body an relax. I'll definitely be back for more.

This was my first experience of reflexology and it surpassed any expectation I had. Sarah is amazing at what she does. She is so intuitive and what she discovered was spot on. I had been feeling run down going in to the treatment but I felt so calm yet energised and rejuvenated afterwards - I couldn't recommend Sarah highly enough and have already booked in my next treatment with her.

I went to see Sarah having been really suffering with blocked sinuses and general fatigue after an illness I had earlier in the year. The session cleared my sinuses and I felt thoroughly reinvigorated and energised. I am a total convert and will be back soon.

I've now had two sessions with Sarah and not only were they incredibly relaxing but also she is so knowledgeable. She picked up on existing issues that I hadn't told her about, such as a fractured coccyx from my early twenties! She's brilliant and I can't wait until my next treatment!
